Island Beach Break
Start with a scenic drive and photo stop on your way to enjoy one of Tortola's beautiful beaches, and experience total relaxation. Swim in the crystal-clear waters or just relax. Choice of beach is subject to change depending on sea and weather conditions. We'll bring you back to your ship or drop you off at the downtown area.
Note: Wear your swimsuit and bring a towel. Beach chairs and umbrellas are available at an additional cost. One complimentary bottle of cold water is included. Time spent at beach is approximately 3 hours. The majority of the transportation used are open-air safari type vehicles. Tortola is a very beautiful island, however there will be many curved roads and going up and down hills.

There's more sand in a sandbox than on this beach
The picture and description are very misleading. This is a very small, narrow, crowded beach, not at all what we expected. There was only enough room for one row of chairs on the beach and the surf was coming up to the bottom of the chairs so people were weaving in between them so they could walk up or down the shore. The beach was shaded by the trees and buildings in the back of the restaurant, therefore you can't enjoy the sunshine until later in the day. If you are looking for a relaxing day on a sunny beach, this is not the excursion for you. The chairs are available for a fee and are not included in your excursion payment. After this experience and the one in Antigua, we have decided to ask local taxi drivers available at all ports to take us to their most amazing beach. Tell them what you're looking for and they will take you there to avoid disappointment.

Great beach, but 2 1/2 hours was not enough

Our excursion was to Cane Garden Bay (I think they may take you to different beaches depending on the weather conditions).
The beach was absolutely gorgeous, and arriving around 9:30am meant that there was lots of spots where you could rent chairs in the shade.
The swimming is wonderful and the birds are very entertaining (pelicans and one other kind that dive into the water to fish)
It was $13 for two loungers and an umbrella.
There were lots of bars and a few vendors whose wares were pretty resonably priced.
My only complaint is that we had to leave the beach at noon, even though our ship didn't sail until 6:00pm. I would have liked to have spent another 3 hours at the beach.
If I had it to do again, I would consider looking for an independent taxi or tour company that offers a longer beach stay (since all you are paying for with this excursion is a $30 ride to the beach).
