Best Of Tortola

This unforgettable and exciting excursion will have you travelling along the coastline on Sir Francis Drakes Highway to the famous Pussers Landing where you can browse in the quaint boutiques. After your 30 minutes stop, drive to Capoons Bay, Apple Bay and Carrot Bay then you will ascend about 900 feet above sea level between the Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean Sea. Enjoy the stunning views and the different shades of the ocean that operate harmoniously with the clouds. This relaxing drive stops at Nature's Way where you can get the best made ice cold fruit smoothie. This complimentary beverage is just for you and you can sip it as you travel to Long Bay beach at Beef Island. Take your photos and a plunge in the warm crystal clear water. A stop at the Maritime Museum is a must as you view a display of photographs and artifacts recovered from the 1867 wreck of the Royal Mail Steamer "Rhone". Note: Wear your swimsuit and bring a towel. The majority of the transportation used are open-air safari type vehicles. Tortola is a very beautiful island, however there will be many curved roads and going up and down hills.

The tour started off with the guide taking us to a shopping area... where all the stores did not open for another hour. We left there a 1/2 hr later. Then we drove and unless you are sitting on an edge you see nothing. He drives fast and doesn't stop. Then we spent another 1/2 hour at the local college. I stood by the bus in a sunny spot. My friend said it was kinda interesting. Then we went to a tiny beach. The trees offered lots of shade. Since, in January I was trying to get lots of sun not what I was looking for. Then it started to rain and the driver decided we should just go back early. Sure, it isn't like we paid for this or anything. The buses are not easy to get in to if you have problems with mobility.

NOT A GOOD TOUR - do not do this tour. It was about two hours too long. We asked to get off the bus. we drove by the same area three times, saw the same view. could not stop for pictures , driver was driving fast so you could not enjoy the view at all.....

Tour Yes, Beach No
The tour itself was very good and our driver/guide was very knowledgable. I ejoyed the island tour, but could have done without the 30 minutes on the beach. The beach was lovely, but there were no seats of any kind, no changing rooms, or facilities. You were given a coupon for a free rum punch, but they only had 1 blender, the line was long, and by the end of the line they had run out of punch mix. My husband and I took a short walk on the beach, but spent most of our time in line for the rum punch.
