Discover Scuba

The Discover Scuba Diving Experience is simple, fun and easy. It is designed for the non-diver as an introduction to scuba diving. This is a standardized program. You'll receive a short lesson on scuba basics and then a skills practice session in waist deep water before exploring the reef with your instructor on a shallow dive. Throughout your scuba adventure, you will receive expert instruction from a PADI diving instructor. This experience lasts about 45 minutes allowing plenty of time to snorkel either before or after the dive. The beach is nestled in a wonderful setting. It is well known for its abundant fish, large varieties of hard and soft corals, sponges and reef creatures. This tour is an excellent opportunity for up-close encounters and taking pictures of tropical fish. Note: Participants must be at least 10 years of age, able to swim, and sign a waiver. Approximate time in water is 45 minutes. Wear your swimsuit and bring a towel. Due to restrictions by the Dive Provider, any Scuba participants currently taking any medication or with a previous medical condition should bring a note from their primary physician stating that they are medically cleared to participate on a Scuba excursion.

Little Time
With a large group, they'll split you into groups of 8-9 people. Each group goes scuba diving one at a time while the other groups can snorkel. There was not much to see except for a rare fish and a weed like grass on the sea floor. It is more worth snorkeling in the Bahamas, there is a nicer reef there.
If you do want to do this, I would buy the snuba, not the discover scuba. Snuba is basically the same thing as scuba diving, but you share the same tank of oxygen with other people, each person having their own mouth piece. In discover scuba, you have your own tank. Snuba limits your movements from going to far from the tank, but the group sticks together and you're not allowed to wander off anyway.
The time scuba diving is about 15-20 minutes and the deepest you go is about 15 feet. Not much for the price you're paying.
