Sea Blaster Marine Snorkel

Board the vessel at the cruise ship dock and get ready to arrive at one of the best snorkel site locations in the Caribbean. This 70-foot powerboat was specifically designed for snorkel excursions offering a stern platform for extremely easy access in and out of the water, two private restrooms and fresh water showers. You'll have an exhilarating ride, sometimes wet, around the coast of St. Thomas and anchor at Fish Island, a beautiful cove between St. John and St. Thomas, to snorkel and swim in the crystal-clear warm Caribbean waters. This tour is ideal for both beginners and advanced snorkelers. You'll view the spectacular coastline and beaches of the Virgin Islands and listen to Caribbean music. After snorkeling, unlimited complimentary Caribbean rum punch and snacks are served. Note: Participants must be at least 5 years of age and able to swim. Wear a swimsuit and bring a towel. All snorkel equipment and expert instruction is provided. Alternative location for swimming and snorkeling may be offered due to weather conditions.

Good times - good price!
You board the Sea Blaster right at the cruise ship dock so no long walks or rides to an excursion site. Once on the boat, the welcoming crew gives you your fins, mask and snorkel. The first stop was at a turtle site where there were PLENTY of turtles and fish to observe. After about 30 minutes, we head to a 2nd site where we do more snorkeling - 30-45 minutes. The great thing about this boat was the easy in/out from the boat to the water. Boat was very clean, crew was very nice. Would definately recommend! NOTE: Even though USVI, we were told we needed to bring our passports. Not sure why as they were never checked but NCL insisted we have them with us so we had to run back to the cabin to get them.

Good Fun
It was a bit cloudy when we went in March 2013 but it did clear up, the water was warm and what they said we were going to see at each place is exactly what we saw. Our first stop I saw 8-10 sea turtles and even a few small fish, and one scary big one. Then on to our second stop and we saw all sorts of fish and even 5-6 stingrays. The people on board were super helpful and offer swim aides for all skill levels. I really enjoyed the rum punch on the trip back, which, after the first glass seemed to be a bit more rum than punch, especially when they started coming around with the rum bottle to top up anyone's glass who wanted it, I declined, but there were lots of takers. Also, this boat is faster than some of the others so you do get to the snorkelling locations a bit before the other boats headed to the same place.

VERY GOOD
Had a very good time, one of the best excursions. The crew was great and very friendly and helpful. Took us to two different locations and we enjoyed the snorkeling, even saw a barracuda. On the way back we had a lot of rum punch.

We were looking for a snorkeling trip that would be more fun than riding on a catamaran to a location and snorkel for a little bit then learn how to sail. Boy did we find it. The crew was extremely helpful and more importantly made things fun. We went to 2 different locations to snorkel and when it was all over we drank rum punch. I've honestly never been on an excursion as good as this one before.

So much fun!
Turtle cove and a beach/trench were great. Swimming with turtles was awsome. The cove was full of other boats. The second stop was full of sea life - string rays, fish, coarl, and a barracuda.

Good snorkeling location!
So, mixed feelings....snorkel location was great with plenty of sea life (cold water though which surprised me) not a bad ride (bouncy on way out, guess we were against the current and maybe the Captain hit the waves to help with the "blaster" effect--on the way back it was smoother and we were going slower. Which was what the Captain told us would happen, guess that's the idea--get 'em wet and give 'em a fast ride)....Captain and his talks got old..rather lengthy talk @ snorkel site, and stopped several times for him to tell us how great SeaBlaster is (for $ tips and to give him a good review with ship) and to market T-shirts to us, and he let various kids actually steer the boat for awhile while "pushing the rum" on the adults! Didn't care for the ego of the Captain and all his marketing, however, loved the snorkeling location...just wished we had more time in the water (only 1 hour)! We had 80 people in the boat in am and they were taking another trip when we came in of 105? Big boat, but you'll be sitting close with others, they give you a plastic bag to put your stuff to stay dry in for the trip. The Captain had a female & male helper--they stayed in boat during snorkeling from what I saw. Area was actually large enough I thought for the crowd..we were able to get away from most of them, but some of these folks chased the turtle away! We saw varied fish, turtle, sting ray, urchins. Our trip was April 11, 2012...can't choose 2012 for year in this review system.

A great time!
This was a lot of fun. The crew were great! It was a quick ride to where we were snorkling. It wasn't crowded there. There were a lot of fish to look at. They served as much rum punch as you would like on the way back. I highly recommend this trip!

A blast!
The captain and crew were great! You do get wet on the way out but it was a fast, fun ride. The snorkeling was really good and not crowded. Easy access off and on the boat. We saw lots of fish including a sting ray and a sea turtle. On the ride back we had unlimited rum punch and they poured it liberally! Lots of fun for everyone even beginning snorkelers. And good instruction about use of equipment. I even learned something I didn't know about my goggles!

Swim fish swim
I have been on multiple snorkeling trips. Some tours want to "herd" people over the site. Sea Blaster Snorkel lets you explore at your own pace. The area that tour goes to is full of fish. The crew are excellent hosts. I have been on this tour twice and plan to return in the future.

Very pleasant, enjoyable excursion
We took this excusion on November 16, 2011 and found it to be excellent. We had a nice, somewhat wet ride out to the cove where we were given our equipment, good instructions and left to snorkel for an hour. We saw stingrays and lots of different types of fish. The rum punch was delicious and plentiful on the return trip. We found the crew to be personable and accommodating. We would definitely recommend this trip for its value and fun factor. Great!

Great Snorkel Site, so-so staff
Easy to access and board from the cruise dock. We took a 30 minute boat trip to the best snorkeling site of my entire trip. On the return, the captain stopped the boat before reaching the dock and asked us all to give positive feedback about the experience to NCL, and also said that it was customary to leave a gratuity in a bucket up front for the staff. Then the T-shirts came out for sale. It felt like we were being held captive. Snacks and soft drinks just okay. Rum was plentiful for those that wanted a drink.
