Chilkoot Trail Hike & Float

Hike the Chilkoot Trail - a tranquil place of incredible beauty with rain forest, streams teeming with spawning salmon and birds, animals, wild flowers and edible berries. The trail brings you to the banks of the Taiya River, where your 35-minute float trip (with no whitewater) begins. The ride culminates at the tidal estuary where the forest gives way to fields of beach greens and wild iris. The granite walls of the fjord rise up steeply, becoming snowcapped peaks serrated by hanging glaciers. Enjoy a riverside snack before returning to your ship. Note: Participants must be at least 7 years of age, in good physical condition and able to hike to 700 feet in elevation (2 miles). We recommend you dress in layers. Ponchos and boots are provided. The float trip has no white water and can be enjoyed by anyone. For more details about this tour please visit: http://hikeandfloat.com/ncl.html

Loved it
Really enjoyed this outing. Our guide Owen was funny and obviously enjoyed his job. The scenery was outstanding! And the river raft ride was by far my favourite -- Owen did all the paddling as we drifted downstream and enjoyed the spectacular scenery.

Left with a Story
Although it rained the entire time, the canopy protected us for most of the trip. Our guide, Sam, was very entertaining and took very good care of us. Even when our raft got hung up on a tree trunk and one of our group fell in the river. Thank you Sam for an excellent trip!

Say YES to this excursion!!!
This was another amazing excursion we luckily chose during our Alaskan cruise! Our tour guide John was fantastic!!!! We got to see a brown bear, blue herons, eagles and even a beaver during this trip! The hike was through some amazing forested areas and the river float was peaceful and beautiful... Definitely do yourself a favor and invest in this excursion!!!
