Best Of Seattle

Past and present thrive side by side in Seattle, and you'll see it all on this tour of the best that Seattle has to offer. View Seattle's new sports stadiums, and then discover the historic flavor of Pioneer Square, Seattle's birthplace dating back to 1852. Pass the International District and tour through the downtown core and shopping district and circle the Seattle Center campus on your way to the Space Needle, where you'll soar to the top by elevator for an unforgettable vista of the Emerald City. From here, you'll head over through newly renovated Belltown to the Pike Place Market, the West Coast's largest and oldest open-air farmers market. Here you'll have the opportunity to browse the hundreds of curio shops and local artisan stalls. Don't forget to check out the 'Flying Fish', one of the more famous vendors at the Market. Note: This tour is only available for guests with flights after 3:30 pm. Guests are responsible for ensuring their debarkation tours are compatible with their flight departure times. Guests have the option to book their flights through our Premium Air Department to ensure that flight departure times do not interfere with debark tours.

Our plane wasn't due to depart until after 3pm so we decided to take this excursion to fill time. Our bus driver/guide was great. He is a teacher during the school year and gave great background info on Seattle and the sights we passed.
We stopped at the Space Needle with plenty of time to head to the top and to shop (tix included in price).
We also stopped at Pike Place Market with time to shop, see the flying fish, pass by the original Starbucks and eat lunch. We also brought and ate dessert back on the bus as we headed to the airport.
Some passengers with very late flights informed the driver and stayed at the Market. They made their own way back to the airport.
I'm glad we did this tour, our plane was 3 hours late and there isn't much to see or do at the airport.

Good value
We did this trip primarily to fill the disembarkation day until our evening flight, as I guess most of our fellow travellers did, although we had already done the sights of Seattle pre-cruise. Our guide was very good and did a better job than the double decker guides we'd had the previous week, although the tour did seem to focus on the stadiums and waterfront, which are probably not the "best" of Seattle. Tickets to travel up the Space Needle were included in the price, but the queues were long, so having been previously, decided to wander around the Seattle Center where there was a folk festival going on - lovely atmosphere and we wished we'd had more time. The bus also took us to Pike Place Market and again we had time to walk about and soak up the atmosphere, but could have done with less looking at stadia and more time at Pike Place, if only to enjoy a relaxing coffee. On balance, a good way to end the cruise and get back to the airport, but nevertheless, cost considerably more than a taxi!
