Experience Las Terrenas

From the pier board your air conditioned vehicle and meet your knowledgeable guide, who will provide interesting information regarding the history and culture of the Dominican Republic on the approximate 60-minute drive to Las Terrenas. Once a sleepy, little fishing village on the North Coast of the Samana Peninsula, Las Terrenas is a prime vacation destination for visitors to the Dominican Republic. With miles of undeveloped white-sandy beaches and protected inshore waters, this city of over 12,000 people is a bustling center of activity. Although fishing is still an important part of local life, the allure of this tropical paradise has fueled its growth to become an important part of the world's rapidly growing, recreational market. Upon arrival at Las Terrenas, enjoy leisure time to explore on your own the cafes, oceanfront restaurants, local souvenirs and art shops. Afterwards, re-board your transportation for your return to the town of Samana. Upon arrival, you'll enjoy some leisure time to shop at the souvenir shops located near the pier. Note: Wear comfortable clothing and walking shoes. Wear your swimsuit and bring a towel.

We loved this excursion!I wanted to see and experience things I couldnt at home! This was perfect! We saw how the people truley live!On the bus ride to Los Terranos ,yes,we did see poverty! It made me thankful for what I have!We had a very knowledgable guide. We stopped for fresh made coconut bread and at a small souv. shop where they were hand rolling cigars. We went on to Los Terranos,it is a small, unique village! Its not like any place Ive been!Small quaint shops with an absolutely beautiful beach! The beach is worthy of a post card!If your looking for the usual souv. shops and Red Lobster-dont take this excursion! If you want to experience something you cant find in the States-take this one!

Not worth it!
This was our 1st visit to the DR and wanted to see the highlights of the island. All we saw was garbage. It was everywhere! We were taken to Las Terraras and told we could shop, go to the beach (more garbage) or eat at the restaurant we stopped at. This is not what we paid for. Would not recommend this excursion.
