Favorite Day of the Cruise!
This was the only excursion we booked on our cruise and it was totally worth it! The environment was great and the trainers were wonderful and very informative. It was so fun to get up close and personal with the dolphins and be able to pet them and interact. Our dolphin was shy to start off and warmed up to us quickly and our enthusiasm grew. This was the best day of our whole vacation! I would definitely recommend to anyone, including families!

Would not recommend
The encounter was very limited and not worth the money. In addition, we elected not to partake in the snorkle portion as we were already disappointed and the vendor committed a refund which later was declined. The excursion eluded to swmming with the dolphins which did not happen at all. The interaction was extremely limited and over crowed. Very disappointing in comparison to other dolphin excursions we have experienced elsewhere. Save your money for a different one.

First off, let me say you may save some money by planning excursions yourself but there is alot to be said for the peace of mind that comes with knowing the ship won't leave without you and that its as safe as it is possible to be. Also, you are first in line to get off the ship and so faster on your way to enjoy your day. As first time cruisers and our first port we had no idea of what to expect. Disembarkation was a breeze and we got into a small 10 person van that took us to Anthonys Key resort (there was a larger bus as well that looked modern and air conditioned that took some of us as well). I had read other reviews previously that complained about the conveyance but it was fine with us. It took about 10-15 minutes to get there and then a short boat ride to the dolphin area. The resort itself looks lovely although not posh, my husband and I said we would consider returning here for a vacation. I was concerned about the use of sunscreen around the dolphins but was told it was fine so we applied. After a short wait we were allowed to enter the water and stand in a line to meet our dolphin Mr. French! There were 10 of us in our group and we had a half hour to enjoy Mr. French's company. Our guide told us many interesting things about Mr. French and dolphins in general and we plenty of interaction with him. This is something I have wanted to do all my life and it was no disappointment. My 2 teenaged daughters were very excited as well and probably would have also enjoyed the dolphin swim, next time I guess! Mr. French showed off for us as did other dolphins in the enclosure, but we only clapped and praised Mr. French as they do get jealous of one another! We thoroughly enjoyed this and have no problem recommending it, well run and friendly staff. We were taken to the gift shop afterward which had some lovely things and you could purchase all the pictures taken by the photographer during your encounter for $40 if you have 1 in your party, $50 for 2 people and $15 for each additional person therefore we paid $80 for the 4 of us. You were allowed to take pictures yourself at a certain point in the encounter as well. We were then taken another 10 minutes further to Tabyana beach which for those who are curious to where it is exactly on the island as I could not find it on line is almost on the very western tip of the island. The lunch was delicious, bbq chicken, red beans and rice coleslaw , hamburgers and hot dogs and a big separate plate of delicious fresh fruit for each. Alcohol was available for an extra charge. There were a fair number of vendors selling their wares at the beach but not overly pushy and definitely good natured. The surf was too rough for snorkeling although there is a small area that is protected and there were a number of snorkelers there but they said there wasn't much to see that day. Roatan is a lovely island and this shore excursion was a winner for us!

This excursion was so much fun. I was alittle nervous about doing this before we went but once we got there felt totally at ease. The trainers were great at explaining dolphin behaviors and just what to do. Even my older sister, who really did not want to even touch them, ended up having a great time. The beach was nice too. We walked just a short way down the beach to the left near the cliff and went snorkeling. Saw some pretty cool fish. Unfortunately our time at the beach was short because we got into port 2 hours late & therefore late getting started but still had a great time. Well worth the money and would love to do it again.

Good experience
Dolphin encounter is amazing. Trainers do a good job. Unfortunately, expect to pay more than what you have paid since you will not be allowed to bring your camera into the water so that the company can take pictures with their cameras and then charge you for them. Later you can get your camera, but not to take picture with the dolphins. Taken to nice, relaxing beach and local food (which was okay) and use of beach chairs included. Worth it but additional costs should be obvious in booking.

The dolphin encounter was amazing. Beautiful location. Good amount of time with dolphin and trainer. Very informative. Tabyana was one of the best beaches we have ever been to. Perfect sand. Water was great. Great snorkle reef. A guide led my daughter and niece around for about an hour and showed them fish, squid and barracuda. Son played on big float. Good food included. My daughter said it was one of the best days of her life. How do you top that!

This was, by far, the best excursion ever! This was my first cruise and I am so happy that we chose this excursion. The dolphin encounter was in a very rocky lagoon, but was enjoyable and fun. Our trainer was helpful, and fun; the dolphins, of course, were awesome! The one we handled most was named Bailey, and she was very opinionated and vocal! I would have liked to have some time to explore the educational area, as it looked very interesting. After leaving through the gift shop (of course!), which actually had some cool stuff, decently priced, we continued on to the Tabyana Beach part of the day.Let me pause between the two sections and mention that I have some mobility issues. I can sometimes walk well, and other times, I can only walk very short distances (100 feet, or so). This is listed as an Activity Level 1, and the actual excursion would probably fit that description. You must, however, factor in getting on and off the ship, down the pier, if any, on and off tenders and buses, etc. There was enough walking over rocky and slick terrain on this one to bump the Activity Level up for mobility issues. Also, there were quite a lot of stairs to navigate at Anthony's Key, which is where the dolphin encounter was based. I used my cane, and was very careful and slow going up and down, in and out, and I did OK. If you have any mobility issues, however, I would definitely get as much information regarding your own situation before I booked this, or any other, excursion. Ask for distances (not 'short' or 'long' or 'not very far', as these are all based on personal opinion) and specifics about stairs, rocks, etc. Tabyana Beach was also wonderful, but, again, more distance to walk than I would have thought from the descriptions I had seen. This was a very secure and beautiful beach, with a great swimming area. As a matter of fact, it was our favorite beach. Our excursion included a buffet and it was delicious. Not a huge selection, but all very tasty and filling. As my main goal was relaxing and enjoying the ocean and beach, this really fit the bill! I would certainly recommend this to all for a low-key, stress relieving excursion.

The Best Snorkeling
My wife and I have snorkeled over hundreds of places in the Caribbean. This was the best! The reef was just off the beach and a very competent guide took us for a 45 min swim thru beautiful coral and stunning fish. We were able to keep our snorkel equipment for the day and able to go out on our own. The lunch was very good and the friendly staff watched your stuff as you snorkeled, swam or took walks on the beach. If you decide to snorkel just once on your tirp, make sure this it.

The Best Beach
We did this one last year and it just keeps getting better and better. Great beach and snorkeling. The dolphins at Anthony's Key Resort are awesome. Not to mention the resort itself. It's the best on the Island by far. You won't be disappointed with this one.

Great Time
Trainers were very informative. The dolphins were friendly and relaxed. They did spontaneous things that surprised and thrilled. It was a great experience. This is a great adventure for children or folks with limitations. Very easy and relaxing! Beautiful scenery surrounds the area where you will interact with the dolphins. Tabyanna Beach was spectacular. Snorkeling and Snuba was available. Lunch was very tasty. Water was so clear and very refreshing. Was definitely a 5 star day and memory of a lifetime.
