Would you like to enjoy a day of authentic Mexican fun? At Hacienda Dona Engracia we have a real Mexican Fiesta planned for you, with colors, displays, contests and more. Upon arrival enjoy a guided tour of the hacienda and tequila factory, with free tequila samples. some contests, prizes and fun. Then you'll head to the downtown area for a city tour and some shopping in the heart of Puerto Vallarta. Passing through the charming downtown area you'll see the famous waterfront Malecon, the ever popular statues and the beautiful Our Lady of Guadalupe Cathedral before you head back to your ship. See you at the Mexican Fiesta!
Note: Short pants are not permitted in the cathedral. Tequila samples are only given to guests 21 years of age and older.

First off, this is the second time we have been on this tour. The first time we had a great experience, but this time...awful. All in all the tour is good, but the air conditioning in this bus we were on made the trip unbearable. There was no air, the heat & humidity was awful. In addition the roads were bad and delayed our arrival to the fiesta. To give credit to the guide, he did call for another bus to return us to the ship and fortunately the ride back was comfortable. We cautiously checked with each tour thereafter to make sure the buses had air conditioning or we would have canceled the tour.
We had a very good tour guide on very comfortable busses that took us first to the old section of Puerto Vallarta which was beautiful. They let us off the bus at the oceanfront area which was very picturesque and then did a walking tour. We walked up to the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadelupe, which was gorgeous. Note: there are places to sit if you can't walk far or stand for long periods of time. There was a 30 minute shopping stop where I found some reasonably priced souveniers. We traveled to the other side of Puerto Vallarta to the Hacienda for a Mexican Fiesta. It really was a good Mexican experience. We were informed about the tequila process and then sampled 6 different kinds. Then on to a buffet lunch and watched a lovely dance performance. There was also audience participation at the end, which was fun. The only bad thing I would say about this tour was the food was good but not great. I had reviewed a tour in Puerto Chiappas where the lunch was excellent, so after that one this was pale in comparison. Plus we were at the end of the buffet line and they were running out of food. Sill, it didn't hurt our experience any. It was still lots of fun. And they make the best Coconut Margaritas!
My husband and I did this excursion April 2012. Very informative. Time was spent on the Malecon, then to the Lady of Guadalupe Church then to the Tequila plantation with free Tequila tasting. Great lunch with good entertainment and show. Our guide was Gina and she was very informative and knowledgeable.
