Your unique adventure begins by boarding your fully-narrated transportation through the lowlands and between spectacular volcanoes, sugar cane and coffee plantations. Arrive to the Historic Filadelfia Coffee Estate, one of the oldest plantations that have been producing one of the Guatemalan finest coffees since 1870. A documentary video about growing coffee in Guatemala will take place during 'out of harvest season'. Next, continue sightseeing the coffee processing plant, the drying patios, roasting area, packing area and coffee cupping. Your tour will end with a tasting of the coffee produced at Filadelfia Estate. After your visit, enjoy lunch before appreciating the beautiful landscape of the surroundings. Depart for a cultural guided walking mini tour of Antigua's highlights such as Royal Square. You'll learn about this unique town, once considered the colonial capital of Central America. Visit the Jade Museum, a Cultural Center for Arts & Art crafts and a local market.
Note: Participants must be in good physical condition. There is a considerable amount of walking on this tour with uneven pathways, inclines and declines and cobblestone streets, including approximately two to four hours at the estate. Wear closed-toe footwear suitable for hiking; bring sunscreen, sunglasses, insect repellent and cash for shopping. Temperatures at the coffee estate may drop considerably due to the altitude (approximately 5,000 feet/1,500 meters above sea level) therefore a jacket is highly recommended.
