Kayaking At Manatee Cove

See plenty of dolphins, manatees and wildlife at this endangered back-water estuary. Your certified eco-guide will lead you into this easy paddle to an uninhabited barrier island for an educational adventure. Your tour begins en route to the kayak launch site, as your guide narrates the significance of this endangered backwater estuary, a sanctuary for the endangered West Indian manatees, bottlenose dolphins, Florida alligators, hundreds of birds, many species of animals, and 1,000 species of plants. Navigate down this inland, protected back-water estuary on your two-person kayak. Halfway through your tour, stop to rest and explore the desolate island. Then, take an easy nature walk through the off-shore barrier island to observe the diverse eco-system hammock and learn of its significance and inter relationship with the estuary. This is a slow, peaceful exploration through nature. It's safe and easy for the first-time kayaker or the experienced explorer alike. Note: Participants must be at least 8 years of age. Sunscreen and a hat are recommended. A bottle of water will be given to guests. This tour returns to the pier and will not be available for guests disembarking or with a back to back sailing.

Manatees are beautiful
Enjoyed the kayaking and seeing the manatees up close. Saw a dolphin also. Guides were very friendly and informative. The stop on the way back at a 'tourist trap' was not right. We had no choice and this was not listed in the description of the tour. You know things are going to be over priced in a store when there are no prices listed!

Excellent Experience!
We had such a blast kayaking with manatees all around us! Alana, our biologist guide was very friendly and extremely knowledgeable. Our kayaking staff were also friendly, well prepared and had great equipment. We saw dolphins and several species of birds along with our up close and personal visits from manatees. I would definitely recommend this excursion to everyone!

Good fun...
This was a lovely adventure for me and my two kids (ages 14 & 12). The guides were EXTREMELY knowledgable and passionate about their jobs. We saw manatees up close and dolphins in the distance. Very exciting! The ride from the ship to the excursion is quick and painless. One tiny warning: the description says it's an "easy paddle" and it was fairly easy for us since we are experienced kayakers BUT, if you're thinking of bringing your elderly parent or someone who is not physically inclined, it may be a bit of an exertion. Also, you do get wet, so wear a bathing suit and not capri denims like I did. The ride back was a little uncomfortable for m. :)

We never went kayaking and really enjoyed our day...Our guide Attee (sorry, not sure of the spelling) is a Marine Biologist and was very knowledable and personable. We got to see Manatee up close and it was a thrill for us!!! Highly recommended if Theme Park is NOT your thing! :) No picture of the Manatee our battery was out! Sorry :(
