Airboat Adventure

Be on the lookout for alligators and bald eagles onboard your 15-passenger airboat. Glide through the fresh water marshes and protected wetland hammocks within the heart of the Central Florida. Your journey starts with your narrated ride to Lone Cabbage, a 100-year-old, turn-of-the-century fish camp located in the middle of the back country. Once at the camp, you'll see a live wildlife presentation and some participants will even get to hold a live alligator. Travel at speeds of almost 40 mph into pristine sections of fresh water and into the Bald-Cypress Swamp; home of the Florida alligator, American bald eagle and a huge assortment of wildlife. Your eco-guide boat Captain will ensure that you come away with a new and profound understanding of Florida's vastly different land and plant communities. You'll see birds, alligators, reptiles and learn of the unique swamp life up-close. Afterwards, you may sample alligator tail and enjoy a soft drink. Note: Wildlife sightings are frequent, but not guaranteed during the airboat ride. Alligator sightseeing is guaranteed during the wildlife presentation. A light jacket is recommended.

Awesome!
The airboat ride was one of the highlights of my whole trip! I could've ridden on that thing all day long! The guide was awesome. We saw at least 10 alligators, a couple bald eagles, a couple harens, and some kind of large turtle. The second stop, the jungle adventure place, was cool too, but wasn't as exciting. Very educational though. Got to see more alligators, snakes, cougars, and pet a de-scented skunk. There was a Native American (Seminole) on premises that gave a very informative talk as well. All in all, this was a great excursion!!!

Excellent excursion
Enjoyed this trip and would recommend this excursion. The airboat ride is exciting travelling at a high speed and we saw many alligators in the water and jumping into the water when we drove alongside them. We saw several cattle on a free range marsh. Saw several turkey vultures and birds that look like flamingos but are not. The ride was about 40 minutes long and the presentation back at the Farm was interesting. I had a tonic and tried the GATOR bites. Looked like chicken nuggets but tasted salty to me. I enjoyed the trip and would recommend.

Nice But Short
We were a little late leaving the port. The presentation on the bus was a little boring. Once a Lone Cabbage fish camp we were put right on the air boats. The Trip along the St. Johns river was fast and exciting, especially if you have never ridden on one before. The guide was pretty good, and we did see a couple of gators. The actually ride seemed a little short. Once back we enjoyed "gator nuggets" and a drink. Then we had a very interesting presentation from a animal rescue group. We were back at the ship early. The total length of this trip was about 2.5 hours. and that included the delay in the beginning. We really enjoyed the excursion but would not do it again.

Exciting boat ride!
We are a family of five, and this was the perfect excursion that the entire family enjoyed! The air boat was exciting and we saw lots of gators and many exotic species of birds....and cattle??? Yep, the ranchers keep cattle in the swamp so that they are free-range. After the ride we got beverages and fried gator tail which was very tasty! It's somewhere between shrimp, chicken, and clams. There was a wildlife rescue group showing some critters and giving an educational talk. We had a blast!

Ride way too short
The guides of the airboat are awesome and very knowledgable, but the ride itself was far too short. Maybe a half hour to 40 minutes at the most. It went by so quick I couldn't believe it was really over, I thought they were joking when they pulled back in to the main area. If the ride was longer like over an hour it would be worth it, but just not worth it for such a short ride.

Great wildlife
WE WENT ON THE AIRBOAT RIDE AFTER IT HAD RAINED A LOT, SO WE only saw two alligators. It looked like one was fake. After the ride, we were treated to alligator nuggets, which were really good. Then a couple who do wildlife rescue showed us some of their animals. Cool !!!!

A Nice Experience
This air-boat adventure was pretty nice, but not exactly worth the price. It was quite uncomfortable between wearing earmuffs that couldn't block out noises of the engine and the ''captain'' telling us to get up every 5 seconds to get a ''better view'' when we were fine on our seats. It was hot and it was sticky, but it was still fun; just don't forget to bring the sunscreen! When we got out, it started raining and the wind was real strong so we just stayed in that lodge like we planned. The animal show was nice, we got to pet animals and take pictures but it didn't last that long. By the way, the crocodile meat tastes like chicken nuggets. Just saying. The picture is of my daughter and my nephew.
