Visit one of the largest gardens in Costa Rica, Pura Vida Gardens which offers magnificent views of the Pacific coastline and surrounding mountains. This botanical garden has one mile of walkways with trails. Bordering this garden is Bijagual, one of the tallest waterfalls in Costa Rica. You'll find an enormous amount of flowering plants, including 60 varieties of heliconias, 10 varieties of ginger, blooming banana plants and of course, orchids. Butterflies are plentiful in this natural setting. There are also many species of birds such as macaws, parrots, parakeets, toucans, trogons, kingfishers, birds of prey of many species, and waterfowls. Iguanas and colorful frogs are also quite common.
Note: Wheelchairs cannot be accommodated due to the bus size which have no lift; however if guests can get on/off the bus, a folding chair on the rack can be placed. Please note there is walking involved. Wear comfortable shoes; bring a hat, sunscreen and light clothing. There are approximately 75 steps to negotiate on this tour.

Gardens are beautiful and immense. Well worth the time and trip. The trip was in 2012, so it was just recently taken. Guide and bus driver were very knowledgeable. The fruit and gift shop were great.
