Whales, whales, whales. The marina that the tour boat leaves from is on the other side of the island from the port so you get a lovely drive around the coast. Be sure to look up and sometimes down to see the old road which follows the contour of the land .While high on the cliff-road look out and see spouting whales even before you reach the marina.
Boat is comfortable and the guides informative and you WILL see whales...
Lahaina waterfront has a main tourist drag. One shop specializes in wonderful scrimshaw and there are a few artist galleries worth looking into. Coffee, sea food and ice cream are the order of the day and don't miss the one acre- sized Banyan tree at the Old Courthouse park

I was more interested in the whales than shopping and I wasn't disappointed! Still, I would have liked to have a bit more time to shop. We cruised the end of January & were told the bulk of the migration was still a few weeks away. If you're more interested in the shopping, don't take this excursion.
