A winding nature trail - through lush jungle in the heart of the spectacular Cranbrook Flower Forest - leads to the start of this unforgettable Canopy Tour adventure. After instruction from extensively trained guides, you'll take a short nature walk to the first platform nestled on the hillside overlooking the treetops and jungle ‘canopy'. You begin your tour by soaring through the trees using an intricate system of harnesses, pulleys and carabineers on horizontal traverses, while gazing at the surrounding jungle until you arrive at the next cliffside platform, 45 feet above the ground. A series of traverses ranging from 105 feet to 660 feet in length will have you swinging through the Laughlands River Gorge, a giant valley carved from the surrounding mountain by ancient waters (a sparkling river still flows through it). From your bird's eye view, you'll survey the flora and fauna of this magnificent landscape, all while listening to the gentle sounds of nature. At different points in the tour, you'll even get a glimpse of the miles-away Caribbean Sea and learn interesting facts about the surrounding tree and plant life from our well-informed guides. After leaving the valley, you really fly, embarking on a series of long throws - with the last traverse being 600 feet long. Here, after removing your equipment, you unwind from your exhilarating adventure with a walk through the flowering trees of Cranbrook before being transferred back to the cruise ship pier via Chukka Cove Farm.

Best thing we have ever done!
The canpoy tour was simply awesome! The tour guides were great. The adventure was not only surrounded by the most beautiful senary I have ever seen, but the zip lines were amazing. It was so much fun! I am normally not good with heights, and was scared going into it, but the guides were very professional and the equipment was very secure and I am so glad we decided to do this. This tour made Jamica our favorite stop on our cruise.

It starts with the ride up, that army truck was great! Then the glide down was a blast. This was the first time my wife and I zip lined and she was a little apprehensive. No plroblems Man! The guides were great. Made us (her) feel safe and relaxed about the safety of the equipment and the excusion in general. Had a great time and would do it again the next time in Jamaica!
We had a group of 6 people from age 9 to 59 and we all had a blast. Our 15 year old was pretty scared of this and didn't really want to go, but later was glad we "made him" go and admitted it was great. It was safe, fun and beautiful surroundings. The guides were a lot of fun along the way. Be prepared for a hike down to the first platform, but once you start flying though the jungle you forget all about it.
My husband and I went on this CHUKKA Original Canopy tour in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. We are 64 years old. Fairly agile but desk job people. It poured rain in the rain forest. We had a blast. We had never zip lined before. We were impressed with the many safety measures. Our camera got ruined...bring a waterproof one if you want. They also take pictures and sell a CD of them relatively inexpensively. It was worth the money. I'd do it again. There were 7 runs and the longest was about 700 feet.
This was a great excursion. The guides were very good and their top concern was safety. My husband was terrified of heights prior to the trip, but was disappointed the tour was over at the end of the lines. Would recommend this to anyone! P.S. The bus ride up the mountain is an experience all of its own!!!
