Kauai Horseback Riding

Your incredible day begins with a narrated drive to the stables, where your experienced guide will provide you with basic riding and safety instructions. For approximately 1 1/2 hours on horseback, expert guides will escort you through the ancient Mahaulepu area that draws beach goers, windsurfers and local fishermen alike. You'll cross over a sand bar and stream, ride past beaches and bays, and see abundant native foliage and birds. Your guides will share ancient legends and local lore. After your ride, you'll be met in a designated area for the relaxing return to your ship. Note: Participants must be at least 8 years of age and weigh no more than 225 lbs. Not recommended for pregnant women or guests with back, hip and knee problems. You must be comfortable riding a horse, although experience is not necessary. This trail ride is at a walking pace only. Closed-toe shoes are required.

Go, Horse, Go!
What a wonderful experience! We enjoyed horseback riding for the very first time in Kauai, and it was very entertaining. The view was beautiful, and we were able to experience riding through the countryside and by the beach. The horses were well-tamed and beautiful.

Somewhat boring
Our guide stayed pretty far ahead of us. We only stopped a few times to learn about the area. It was mostly just about riding and taking in the scenery. While it was a nice beach area, I think your time could be better spent just shopping at the port or perhaps another excursion.

Beautiful!
This was a beautiful experience. The guides were friendly and knowledgible . You see alot of great picture taking spots. If you are not used to horseback riding, sadly your legs and butt will get sore. But all in all well worth it!

Kaui beach and mountains on horseback...Amazing
Haven ridden horses competitvely before this trail ride was primarily for my husband and son. However I was thoroughly enthralled with all the great scenery that surrounded us on Kauai. I was able to take amazing pictures of the beaches we walked on and mountains we passed by. Do bring your camera as they give you saddlebag to put it in and the trailguide stops at least twice in front of a scenic beach backdrop to take your picture. I was easily able to video and take pictures myself as well. Horses were great. My son loved the passion guava juice the guide gave us when we stopped for a quick break. It was truly a great scenic experience.

I went on this excursion with my spouse and 10 year old son. It was the highlight of the trip. We are beginner riders and were matched with horses that suited us just fine. My son's horse was as placid as a lamb. The ride itself was through the hills and along the beach. The views were fantastic. There were even a few times when we were able to trot the horses. The guide was knowledgeable and provided detailed information about the area and scenery. Just a fantastic morning!!

OUR FAVORITE EXCURSION
This is a GREAT excursion! Our family 55, 52, 22, 21 ALL loved it. Not sure what the age limit is but I would guess 10+. The scenery is just BEAUTIFUL and ends with a ride along the beach. It is just long enough too. Tame horses for those of us who are not experienced riders. Highly recommend. Worth the money. Bus driver was also very informed about the area.
