Atlantis Aquaventure & Dolphin Cay Interaction

Enjoy a full day of water fun at Atlantis! Explore the new Dolphin Cay and play with dolphins in one of the newest and largest dolphin habitats in the world and home to the world-famous 'Katrina' dolphins. Meet and connect with dolphins in a 30-minute in-water interaction where you'll touch, hug and even kiss these amazing animals. You'll also have access to Dolphin Cay's private beach. Your day continues at Aquaventure, the only water park of its kind in the world. This 141-acre aqua-adventure features the Power Tower and Mayan Temple offering eight high-speed body and inner tube slides, numerous children's water play activities, relaxing pools, beautiful white-sand beaches, and a mile-long action river ride that you won't want to miss! Experience white water rapids, rolling waves, gentle currents, themed caves and never-before-seen special effects as you float along in a single or double tube. Note: Participants must be at least 2 years of age for the Dolphin Interaction program and at least 48 inches tall to ride water slides at the Aquaventure. A parent or appointed guardian must participate in the programs with all children under the age of 10. This program includes a video orientation and a trainer talk, complimentary wet suit, natural fruit, infused water, personal locker, towels, beach service, and all-day access to Dolphin Cay's private beach. Due to the amount of walking, numerous steps and inclines, the Aquaventure tour is not recommended for the physically challenged or for pregnant women. There is a considerable amount of walking on this tour (approximately 0.4 miles). Sandals or ‘aqua socks' are strongly recommended for children of all ages. Non-motorized water sports are available for rent. Guests should bring a credit card for drink and food purchases. This tour is non-refundable. The transportation for this tour is by bus, approximately 25-minutes each way depending on traffic conditions. Guests participating on an Atlantis Shore Excursion must arrive at the place and time stated on the Shore Excursion ticket. Atlantis tour tickets will not be honored at the resort. Prices may vary per sailing date. This tour is not available for the N. Epic and N. Sun. The last transfer back to the ship will be one hour before sailing time. To ensure availability, dolphin excursions must be booked no later than 24 hours prior to the port call. Last minute sales will not be available.

Clean, safe, not cheap
After doing the sea lion adventure in Samana, DR, the dolphin experience at Atlantis was luxurious and worth the cost! The dolphins experience happens in a very clean tank. You walk into the clear water wearing a wet suit and using a man-made beach. My seven year old daughter was able to stand with the water just below her shoulders. The trainers were funny and well versed. Our young female dolphin needed a few breaks because she was fule of energy, but she didn't disappoint. Warning - it aint' cheap. The least expensive photo package was a whopping $70 for five pictures. You aren't allowed to have your own camera.

Awsome Family Fun
We did this excursion as a family with our 7 and 9 year old daughters - we all had a great time!
The staff at Atlantis was helpful and friendly and our time in the water with the dolphins was well worth the cost of this excursion.
I felt safe the entire time with these loving animals and would recommend this to all families.

Bad Day at Atlantis
We had paid almost $600 for a deep water interaction with the dolphins at Atlantis.  This was to be the highlight of our trip and my daughter looked forward to and planned it for over a year .   When in line for the excursion we were informed that, “the dolphins have had a baby and are very protective so the deep-water interactions were canceled”.  We were then informed that we would be given a partial refund and allowed to go to the other dolphin encounter.  This excursion was a terrible disappointment and nothing like what we had planned for over a year and paid in advance.  We would never have gone at all if this was what we knew we were going to be forced to see.  While at this excursion I informed the trainer at Atlantis about the deep-water excursion being canceled and she laughed and said, “someone told you a lie – the excursion is going on right now as we speak and pointed toward the area for us to witness”.  I also couldn’t figure out why when they sent us to this excursion they put CARNIVAL wristbands on us when we were NORWEGIAN customers – I now know that they gave our excursion to people on Carnival and then gave their leftovers to us on Norwegian.

Atlantis was a waste of time and money – as 4 cruise ships unloaded 12,000 people all at once and you had to wait well over an hour for everything.
We wrote three different times to KERZNER INTNTL. RESORTS INC. – the Parent Company of Atlantis Resorts – they never responded.  Very UN-CARING company.
ATLANTIS – What a waste of time and money.

My wife and I enjoyed this experience thoroughly! Started with a brief introduction to dolphins and then into the water for some interaction. Actual time with the dolphin was not overly long, but the employees did ensure that each person got independent time and photos taken with your dolphin (ours was Noah!).
Doesn't leave a tonne of time for experiencing Atlantis, but we did manage to do each waterslide at least once and visit the aquariums quickly.
Waterslides were some of the best we've ever been on...Overall, pricey, but a tonne of fun!

Too much for one day
Both Atlantis waterpark and the the dolphin interaction are great activities, but there is not enough time to combine them and do both. The slides aren't open when you arrive, and by the time your done with the dolphins you only have a hr or so left befor having to return to the ship.
Be prepared, the pictures for the dolphin interaction are not cheap, and you must buy a "package"

Great fun but needed more time!
We had a wonderful day at Atlantis. The Dolphin Adventure was a once in a lifetime event -- the kids (ages 10 - 13) couldn't wipe the smiles off their faces. Either could the 4 adults for that matter! The trainers were excellent, and such a pleasure to interact with. It really was a great event.
The time in Nassau prior to the Dolphin Encounter had us at the water park in Atlantis. Unfortunately, following a very late arrival, we only had time to have some lunch, ride the lazy river (which was great) and head down one slide directly from the river. Our time in Atlantis was cut short due to the inefficiency at the staging area for transportation. Our "leader" into the area was quite meek, and had us waiting there for close to 1 hour while many groups that had arrived after us were loaded onto the various buses as they arrived. Very frustrating! We had heard it might be worth it to take your own transportation in Nassau. While we had no problems on the return trip, that might be a worthwhile change to make when heading over to Atlantis.
Overall though, the time spent there (once we arrived) was fantastic!

We love Atlantis having spent a week there once before and were so excited to spend a day at the water park. Unfortunately, the filtration system was not working that day and the park was shut down. We enjoyed other parts of Atlantis and had a good day. Even better, when we returned to the ship we were given a full refund without asking for it due to the problems. It was a nice surprise handled beautifully by the Norwegian staff.
