Segway Experience

Experience the natural beauty of Nassau riding your own Segway transporter. After a short ride to the staging area, you'll meet your tour guide and be assigned your personal Segway. During the short orientation, you'll be surprised how quick you'll learn to master this fun, battery-powered machine. Experience the wonders of Nassau as you and your Segway glide on the walkways lining the beaches and the blue waters of the harbor. Circle the "Fish Fry", a colorful collection of local restaurants and bars. Next, head off to Junakanoo Beach for a shady break and a chance to purchase refreshments or you can also enjoy a swim in the Caribbean waters. Finally, glide along the white sand beaches to the staging area for the return shuttle to your ship. Note: Participants must be at least 10 years of age, accompanied by a guardian and weigh no more than 275 lbs. Guests should wear comfortable shoes and be able to stand for duration of the tour. For beginners, the maximum age to participate is 60. Guests have the option to stay at Junkanoo Beach at the end of the tour and take a short 10 minute walk back to the ship.

Fun Experience
The Segway was easy to master and fun to ride. The tour operators made sure you were comfortable before leaving for the tour, and were very friendly and enjoyable to talk with.

Poor Choice
Learning to ride the segway was fun. The people running the excursion were great. The excursion itself was a total waste of money and time. After learning how to operate the segway, we rode down the boardwalk to the beach, spent 5 minutes there. Rode a few more minutes to the Fish Fry where we were told the good places to eat and this was the opportunity to use the restroom if needed. Then we went another 5 minutes to a sand pit across from where we started and were given the opportunity to play for 15 minutes on the segways after which we returned to our starting point.
I wish we had signed up for a different excursion. The high point was after the excursion was over, we found the Nassau Hard Rock Cafe!!! :)

Super Fun!
Just completed this tour a few days ago on March 27, 2013. We had a great time! We were given individual attention and help as we learned how to operate the Segway. The guides were great - friendly, fun and helpful! At the "turn around" point we had 10-15 minutes to drive around in a field and go as fast as we wanted to. The overall favorite shore excursion of our party.

I'm So Glad We Did This!
The segway tour is, by far, the most fun I've ever had on an excursion. I was terrified at first, but the guides are great at teaching you to ride the segway. Once I got used to it, I decided it's top on my Christmas list for next year. You drive around on the segway and they make stops at certain areas to tell you a little about the history and culture of the area and Nassau. Andrew and Mona were the best guides ever! They are funny and really know what they are doing. I don't know if I would recommend this for kids, but it's a great time for adults.

This Segway tour was the best tour i've ever been part of. Our tour guides were Peter and Stephano and they had us laughing the entire trip we all enjoyed it from beginning to end. they teach you the the proper steps to operating the Segway from knowing how to get on and of to knowing how to maneuver the vehicle. i would recommend this to all and i'll more than likely do this again .

My husband, myself and our 10 year old daughter decided to give this excursion a try in Nassau (trying to avoid all the crowds at Atlantis). Traffic was heavy, but it took about 10 mins to get to the Segue shop. We had a short lesson; the instructors were very careful to ensure that everyone knew how to control their Segue before we went into the Public areas. We then toured around Junkanoo beach and the "Fish Fry" area of Nassau. We had a 'beer stop" to try the local beer; then went to a hilly grassy area to "play". we had a good amount of time on the Segue's and it was enough time. Our tour guides were Peter and Mona; HIGHLY recommend. Peter was funny and Mona was extremely good with my daughter. We really enjoyed this excursion.

Best Excursion Ever
This was our last excursion on 12/29/2012. My twelve year old son picked this excursion. He had a blast. Never stopped smiling. I was a bit nervous at first. My husband loved it too. The tour guide Peter was amazing. Answered all my sons questions! He made the cigar smoking guy go to the back end. Thank You!! I was up front and took lots of pictures. Yes, I was driving with one hand. Once you got your balance it was really easy to control. The tour was beautiful. Stopped and took pictures of us at the beach. Will go again when I am in the Bahamas. GO BIG RED!!

So fun I have done it twice!
This is fantastic, and so much fun. First time I went with my husband, and second time with my girl friends...we had a blast. One suggestion is to wear tennis shoes. I found flip flops were not the right choice to ride the segways. Our tour guide was friendly and knowledgable. Bring a bottle of water with ya.

Fun and Value
Our cruise date was August 13, 2012. This was our first time riding on a Segway. It was something we always wanted to do...and now we want to purchase one. Both Aneka and Mona of Caribbean Segway Tours were very professional and extremely helpful in guiding us and teaching us how to mount, dismount and drive the Segway. Within 10 minutes we were riding along the beach, bike paths and along the parks of the Bahamas. It was one of the best values for our money that we have invested in during our various tours from cruises. Our head guide Aneka was so much fun and very knowledgeable about the island...make sure she takes you to her favoriate spot for some "Sky Juice"...a very delicious and tropical drink that enhances the tour. Mona kept us safe during our trips across the roadways and was very helpful when one of was unsure of what to do. Highly recommended for the money and the amount of fun packed into a few hours...

Disappointment
We were really looking forward to this excursion but we were very disappointed. It started out with a thorough training on how to use the Segway (this was the only good part for the newby). However, it was downhill from there. We rode along the beach to Fish Fry and went to a park. We played a Segway game riding through some cones and then back. There was no explanation of the sights we were seeing. There was little to no cultural information. The distance we traveled we later walked - 15 minutes down and 15 minutes back. Not worth it by any means

Fun, but short route
To start, i just need to say that the description given for this tour isn't exactly accurate. The tour is really just a run down along the short boardwalk and a brief stop in the Fish Fry area. Most of our time was spent across the road in a field where a small obstacle course was set up. For quite a while there the guide stood off to the side talking to one of the people taking the tour, so the rest of us basically ran circles in this small area. I didn't feel that we spent much time seeing Nassau. There was no "purchasing refreshments" or "enjoying a swim". I did have fun riding along the beach, though, and the segway is really easy once you get the hang of it. The guides were friendly. I just wish the route was better. Also, we did go back to eat in the Fish Fry area, and it was DELICIOUS.

Not knowing what to expect is always hard for me. Once I realized that a klutz like myself could ride the Segway without falling off, I enjoyed the whole experience. The guides were EXCELLENT! They were funny, courteous and aware of everything that could ruin our rides. You could see they had our safety in their mind. I would recommend this to any of my friends. It was a "hoot!"

There were five of us in our party ages ranging from 64 to 10 and EVERYONE of us had a blast! The guides were fun, helpful and great with our kids! We would definitely recommend this for people visiting the island. One of our favorite memories!
