Atlantis Aquaventure

It's new, it's big; and it's fun for the entire family. Come play at Aquaventure, the centerpiece of the Atlantis Resort's recent billion-dollar development. Containing over twenty million gallons of water, this non-stop water experience consists of thrilling new water slides, a mile-long river ride with high intensity rapids, wave surges, and never-before-seen special effects. The excursion also includes access to the huge, open-air marine habitat where you can find over 50,000 fascinating sea creatures. Whether you prefer a thrilling ride through a shark-filled pool or a gentle float on a never-ending lagoon, you'll find it at Atlantis. Note: Participants ages 3 or younger receive free admission if accompanied by a participating paying adult (parent or guardian at least 18 years of age). There is a considerable amount of walking on this tour (approximately 0.4 miles). Participants must be at least 48" tall to ride the water slides. Lounge chairs, towels and life jackets are provided. Non-motorized water sports are available for rent. Guests should bring a credit card for drink and food purchases. The transportation for this tour is by bus, approximately 25-minutes each way depending on traffic conditions. Guests participating on an Atlantis Shore Excursion must arrive at the place and time stated on the Shore Excursion ticket. Atlantis tour tickets will not be honored at the resort. This tour is available for all ships except Norwegian Epic and Norwegian Sun. The last transfer back to the ship will be one hour before sailing time. Prices may vary by sail date.

A huge disappointment!
My husband and I were so excited to visit Atlantis but ended up leaving after only a couple of hours in the waterpark. We love water parks and Atlantis looks so luxurious online, a must see hotel and somewhere we have always wanted to visit. However when we got there we were extrememly disappointed! The water park was full of seagulls, not the hotels fault but the pool area and sunbeds were covered in the seagulls feces not to mention that they were all in the water bathing themselves, very unhygienic which really put me off of going in the water!! The slides were fun although there weren't as many as I'd thought there would be. The staff were rude and unfriendly! Most of them just ignored us! We only really experienced the water park area and the only way I can describe it is that it looked like it hadn't been maintained for a good couple of years! It was shabby and neglected with paint peeling off of the walls, the water tanks were dirty, the sun loungers were old and covered in seagull feces and the entire area was very unhygenic! This excursion is definitley not worth what we paid for it! We were extremely disappointed and would never go back, nor would we recommend it.

AMAZING
This waterpark is amazing, the lazy river is the best i have ever been on! will be going again some day. be warned, they only accept credit cards at this park, no change, and you do have to pay for a locker to lock your stuff up.

What a BLAST!! Beautiful, fun and our 9 and 12 boys loved it!! The wife and I loved the "Lazy" River; but, my 12 yr old said it best, "Nothing lazy about that river!" haha

Best Water Park
We just came back from a B2B cruise that included a stop in Nassau. This stop is well worth the money. Although it was a little cool and windy the day we were there, the water in the "Lazy Man River" was like bath water. The Aquarium is incredible. Only one drawback that we can mention. They only take cash in one place on the grounds. I know that we're a little old fashioned but I rarely carry plastic when we get off the ship(Not much of a shopper) so we walked around for quite a while trying to buy a beer. The spot that the tour guide told us about was closed, so here we are with a pocket full of cash and couldn't spend it.

Best Experience
I planned this trip for my daughter's16th birthday, and my mom's 70th. This was the best place to be, there was something for everyone! My mom was just in love with the beach waters and the fabulous Aquarium. My 17 & 16 year old and me of course, were allover those incredible water slides, pools and the beach. The drinks and food were great aswell. Everything was very well organized. We were able to get back in time to also visit the local Straw Markets and shop. I recommend this excurtion to all the families, there is no time to be bored.

Once you get off the ship, try to get your colored bracelet as soon as possible, then catch a taxi to Atlantis!
We got off the ship a little before 9am and there was a sizeable line as workers checked peoples tickets and time waiting for people to fill out their release forms (they give these to you in advance for a reason!). Once you have your bracelet you are basically ready to enter Atlantis. However, they make you wait for everyeone to get their bracelet, then parade everyonoe down the lengthy pier (we docked at the furthest point) to the shuttle bus area and then wait to board the busses as only 30 or so people fit on each bus. It was a fairly quick bus ride to Atlantis, but then they walk the group through a portion of the complex to point out Casino and other stuff (we ditched the tour at this point and went right to the pool!). By the time we get our lounge chairs and towels, it was around 10:45am. So almost 2 hours to get our feet wet in the pool.
A suggestion would be to get off the ship ASAP in the morning, show your excursion tickets and signed release form, get your bracelet and head right to the bus area (just walk from the ships towards land), then grab a taxi to Atlantis. I'm not sure how much the fare is, but I would guess less than $10. This will give you more time at Atlantis and save you from standing around waiting in lines. Oh, and buy some $1 water bottles from the street vendor...they are $4 in Atlantis.
For the ride back, the shuttle bus worked easy enough...pick up point is near the Coral Towers

overpriced waterpark/hated the tour
WE wasted alot of time on the pier waiting for everyone to check in for excursion. Wish they would have checked all in in groups to fill bus up, then leave.
The park was clean and massive. Water rides were great. food priced well. Wear sandals or water shoes, lots of pavement to travel, due to the size of the park and it gets extremely hot on your feet!!!!
Our biggest DISLIKE was that they take you on a walking tour of about 20-30 minutes of the "Atlantis" Hotel , the gift shops, glass sculptures, casino. We were there for the waterpark, not the tour of the other stuff. Probably cheaper to rent a hotel room for night(for price of tickets) get a taxi to Hotel from pier.

TOOO EXPENSIVE, NOT WORTH IT
Had the excursion last june 2011. My family was expecting "excellent" fun time due to nice review . when we reach atlantis, most of the rides were close due to some staff issues /conflicts so we were not able to enjoy the said "adventure". we were only there from 10 to 3 pm coz we need to catch the bus to bring us back to the port. . with the minimun time to spend at atlantis and with their internal issues, it was not worth paying for... atlantis actually refunded our payment due to some inconveniences but still , if i have to do agian, I WILL NEVER DO THIS EXCURSION...its a waste of money and waste of time... if you want to enjoy atlantis,, its better to stay at atlantis for a couple of days to really enjoy it.. but just doing this excursion.... USELESS
