Blue Lagoon Dolphin Encounter

Learn about, meet and interact with the bottlenose dolphin. The friendly nature and legendary intelligence of these animals account for their huge popularity. You'll be transferred to and from Blue Lagoon Island by boat, from the pier (40 minutes each way). This lagoon is home to 19 bottlenose dolphins. Upon arrival, you'll meet the dolphin trainers for a 10-minute educational briefing and be helped onto a floating platform in small groups for the opportunity to touch and interact with dolphins in waist-deep water. Note: Participants ages 3 or younger receive free admission if accompanied in the program by a participating paying adult (parent or guardian at least 18 years of age). Children between the ages of 3 to 12 must be accompanied in the water by a paying guardian/parent. The paying guardian/parent must be book at the same time of the child participant; these booking cannot be made onboard as space is very limited. Actual in-water encounter time is approximately 10-15 minutes. Approximately 1/2 to 1 mile of walking on the pier is required. Wear your swimsuit and bring a towel from your ship. Space is very limited so please book early.

Loved it!
We were on excursion Nov 16, 2012.
Well worth the money. Just like the others said the interaction with the Dolphin is awesome (dance, hug, etc). My kids loved it. The trainer turns the Dolphin into a comedian. An excursion you will never forget.

Worth the Cost
We are mid fifties. We really enjoyed this excursion. Well worth the cost. There is a long 1/2 mile walk from the ship to the Blue Lagoon Boat. At Blue Lagoon there is short pier to walk on to the area for the Dolphin Encounter. Fun interaction with the Dolphin. They will take your picture being kissed by the Dolphin. They also take a video which you can purchase.

Worth the Money
Our family loved this excursion (6&9 year olds). You are in the water with the dolphin standing on a platform with a group of about 10 others. You get to hug, kiss, dance with the dolphin, touch its teeth, pet it and more. Though you don't swim with the dolphin, you get enough time in the water with him and we didn't feel rushed. Highly recommend!

My family and I had a wonderful time at Blue Lagoon, from the ferry ride there, the educational orientation, the close encounter which included a kiss, a hug and a dance with the dolphin, the highly educated and friendly staff and the ferry ride back. It was a fun filled and memorable day.

FANTASTIC EXPERIENCE
This has been the best experience ever...
If you have a little child, or even if you don`t I highly recommend this experience.
Our daughter is only 3, despite she was a little scared and the water temperature was not excatly warm, this experience is the top of her story about our holiday.
If I want to be a little bit picky, probabl I would say that the trainer was a little bit in rush to finish the section, and we wait a little bit for the photo, but at the end of the day it has been really a fantastic experience, and I would repeat it again and again and again.

Excellent Excursion
I cruised to Mexico on another cruise line some years ago, and chose to swim with the dolphins there. My experience was excellent. I was a little apprehensive about doing a similar excursion, particularly since it was just an "encounter". However, I was pleasantly surprised. The encounter was educational and fun. I was sad that the actual swim cost so much more than the encounter. But it was well worth the time and money!
