Capri, Sorrento & Pompeii: Pre-book & Save $20

A very fast paced, but rewarding day awaits. This ultimate scenic tour includes the most spectacular sites along the Campanian coast, including amazing Pompeii, possibly the most famous excavation in the world. Start with a fast-boat ride to Marina Grande in Capri, a port lined with colorful old fishermen's houses. A funicular will take you up to a terrace with a marvelous scenic overlook of the small island, the coast and the sparkling sea. Walk to the piazzetta, the heart of Capri's shopping and nightlife. You'll visit Augustus Gardens with your guide, or if you prefer, explore the narrow streets, take in the magnificent views, or relax at an outdoor cafe. You'll then continue to Sorrento by jet-foil where a delightful lunch awaits at a leading restaurant. After lunch, you'll have some time to wander the flower-filled streets or admire the high-quality handicrafts for which Sorrento is famous. Head to Pompeii where you'll enter by the sea gate and visit the city's baths, villas, theaters and wrestling grounds. Because Pompeii is so well preserved, you can see many fine details that reveal the lifestyles of the residents, such as mosaic floors and colorful frescoes in some of the homes. Time permitting, visit a cameo factory near Pompeii and browse handmade jewelry. Note: During summer months expect extreme heat, crowded venues and very long lines at the funicular. We recommend that you dress in layers and bring bottled water. Tour may operate in reverse order. Online price is inclusive of the Pre-book and Save offer.

Awesome!
This was so amazing! Pompeii was awsome and should not be missed. The drive to Sorrento was a little scary and so was the walk down the steps to get to the boat for Capri. Lunch was okay and we would have prefered to explore the culture on our own. The food was good, but I think we could have got some pizza instead and met back with the group. We would have had time to go to the Blue Grotto when in Capri, but the boats weren't running because it was too windy in the afternoon (so I guess I'll just have to go back). Too many people on the funicular, but it was well worth it.

fast-paced, informative and fun
this excursion is extremely fast-paced and has to be because you are visiting so many towns. We started with Pompeii. Our guide went at a pretty quick pace but you never felt rushed or hurried. She gave us a great background about Pompeii.
After leaving Pompeii we took a bus ride to Sorrento. This drive along the Sorrento Coast was breathtaking. It seemed like something you only see in movies. Upon arriving we were brought to a restaurant connected to a hotel. The food was delicious.
After our great lunch our guide brought us to the center of Sorrento and gave us about one hour to discover this town on her own. With the great shopping, beautiful architecture and scenic coastline one hour is definitely not enough.
We were then off on a hydrofoil to Capri. Just about a 15 min. boat ride we were there. It took longer to stand in line waiting to get on the funicular then he did for the boat ride over. upon arriving our guide gave us two choices one to go with her for a guided tour of the town of Capri or discover the town for about an hour and a half on your own. We chose to discover the town on her own.
At the end of the tour it was back down the funicular to our hydrofoil which took us directly to the cruise ship which was docked at the port of Naples. Even though I never spent enough time at any of the three locations I'm glad to have seen them all and definitely will go back.

Very Nice Tour
Our first stop of this tour was to the Cameo factory and was a highlight! You can get a relatively cheap cameo here for as little at 32 Euros! Pompeii was the most amazing place I've ever seen! Sorrento was a dream with an amazing lunch and too little time for shopping,
Capri was a very HOT boat ride with choppy seas which made several people seasick.
Once we made it to Capri--the line for the trainride up the mountain was unbelieveably LONG with no organization--just everyone trying to cram into a small space at the same time--the ride down was the same mass confusion! People getting hot and sick and packed in like sardines! The views however were beautiful--this is a very ritzy european place to visit--but would probably not go to Capri again just because of the disorganization--this is not NCL's fault--just a european thing, I suppose.

2 Hits and a Miss
This tour is a long one. You have to be up EARLY and you are cramming a lot in to the day. You get a taste of all three places but don't have time for anything too in depth. Pompei was amazing - only wish we had more time there to see more of the highlights. Sorrento was nice too. Beautiful town. The lunch was nice and the food was authentic and good. Had a short time for shopping here. It was some of the best (and most affordable) of the whole cruise. A little more time here would have been good too. Now Capri.... Capri is very beautiful but the cable car can not handle the volume of cruise passengers arriving all at once combined with all the normal volume of customers. We waited over 30 minutes in a crush for the ride up to the town and an hour in an even bigger crush for the ride down. It was AWFUL!!! It took 2 hours to get up and down and we only had 45 minutes to look around the actual town. I complained to the cruise line about this tour being over booked - hopefully they will do something about it. If they can fix that problem in Capri - the tour is worth it. For us, it ruined what should have been a wonderful day. We barely made it back to the boat for all aboard.

Great Excursion
We really enjoyed this excursion. Pompeii was fantastic with just enough time to take in the sights and the shops before the ride to Sorrento. That ride was gorgeous. Loved Sorrento, but would have liked more time to shop rather than take in the sit down meal that came with the tour. Loved Capri, but I was not happy with the tram ride to the top. They crammed several tours in line all at once - 30 minutes up and 45 minutes down. I would have skipped the ride to the top, if I had known that. It was beautiful up there, but not worth the discomfort. The tour guide would not give out the ticket for the trip back down until the crowd gathered again. I should have just paid the 1.5 Euro to get down myself when it wasn't so crowded. Other than that, the tour guide was the best one I've ever had on an excursion.
