Mount Etna
Before reaching Mt. Etna, you'll enjoy a panoramic drive through Messina. Take in the scenery of the slopes of this magnificent mountain before arriving at Cratere Silvestri. From this vantage point, you'll be able to gaze out across the Catania Gulf. You'll have some free time to enjoy the major attraction - the crater, and the remnants of the awe-inspiring streams of lava.
Note: The uphill walk is approximately 650 feet from the coach parking to the crater area. We recommend you bring a windbreaker or light jacket as it can be windy and chilly at the top of the volcano.

Dont bother do the 4 x 4
a morning tour , you only really go to the car park at 2000 feet, you do not have time to go higher, there is a chair lift , which goes higher, you do not have time to use it. You get to see a small crater (extinct) just off the car park !!!! If you want to go higher book the 4 x 4. Many on our trip had been disappointed, and it was the worst trip I have taken with NCL (shame) It is 5 hours , and 3 of those are traveling. We had 20 mins to spend in the car park .
