Exclusive Pisa & Florence With Uffizi Gallery

This tour has been designed for those who wish to combine a visit to one of the most important art museums of Florence with the world-famous Miracle Square of Pisa, and do so in a small group. This exclusive tour has a limited participation. Stop in Pisa for a brief photo stop by the Field of Miracles. Then drive to Florence, stopping first at Piazzale Michelangelo to admire the views of the city from this vantage point. Visit the impressive Uffizi Gallery without standing in long lines, admire Piazza della Signoria, and stop at Ponte Vecchio. After lunch in a leading restaurant, pause in the fascinating Piazza del Duomo and admire its magnificence. During the tour, you'll stop at a showroom specializing in discounted gold items. Note: Guests who are planning to visit religious sites during free time or on tour, please dress appropriately; no bare shoulders or shorts are allowed. The walking tour in Florence will cover approximately 2 miles. The photo stop in Pisa is not guided and you'll have to walk from the bus parking area approximately 15 minutes each way. Tour may operate in reverse order. The Galleria Dell'Accademia is closed on Mondays. Tour will not be available for the Norwegian Spirit on the April 28th, September 7th, and October 13th, 2012 sailings. Online price is inclusive of the Pre-book and Save offer.

The Best
Our best tour of the week!!! Florence and the Uffizzi Gallery were excellent. Our tour guide, Patricia, was knowledgeable and ensured that we saw all the important sites in Florence. It was total absorption in art/architecture, shopping and great food and wine. Loved it....we would return to this tour.

One of the better tours
This was a nicely paced tour. Our tour guide Patrizia, spent just enough time everywhere and shared enough information to keep it interesting. Having the tickets bought in advance to the Uffizi Gallery truly helped us experience the main highlights of the gallery. We were able to see enough of Florence to appreciate most of what it has to offer. We saw so much and the photos I took are allowing me to remember all the infamous things we saw. The statue of David, even as a replica outside the gallery, is quite impressive as were the other statues. Ponte Vecchio had lots of shops selling gold but it’s very expensive. We visited Florence in the morning before the piazza became overwhelmed with tourists which made our experience a little more pleasant. We were given about 30 minutes or so to go meander on our own. If you are interested in checking out leather gloves, there is a nice store by the jewelry store where they took us and it’s not that expensive (depending on what you buy of course). There were other stores as well depending on your preference. We then headed to lunch. The restaurant was beautiful, the food was delicious and the view was breathtaking. It would be a nice place to have a romantic lunch or dinner. The last of our adventure headed to Pisa. We had adequate time there to take the cliché photos of the tower and to briefly peruse the vendors in the square. There were more panhandlers in Pisa than in other places. Don’t make eye contact but if they approach you a “non, grazie” will get them to move on. Bathrooms have very long lines (anywhere from 10-20 minutes) and often you have to pay for them. So schedule accordingly in order to make sure you make it to your rendez-vous point with your guide. This was one our more favorite tours of the week even though it was long.

Worth Every Penny!!!
This was my first time visiting Italy, and I was a little nervous booking this tour because it was very expensive and there were no reviews at the time. I am so happy I took a chance and booked the tour! First let me say that 8 hours in any Italian city is not enough time to explore and see everything you want, but this tour really encompassed the major events. I am so happy that I opted to climb the tower of Pisa and I got a beautiful overview and photos of Florence. Although I hope to go back again, I feel like I saw alot of historical places! We visited and climbed the Tower of Pisa at 9am prior to the crowds, then we headed into Florence where we toured the beautiful buildings and bridges, saw the infamous David, sampled some wines, grabbed lunch, had some free time to shop, and concluded with a beautiful photo opportunity overlooking the entire city. I really enjoyed the private motorcoach. There were only 15 of us in a group compared to the other tours which had multiple coach buses of hundreds going to the same places. The tour guides were extremely professional and entertaining! We learned Italian along the way...And many of the people on this tour were on the Ultimate Rome tour as well. We had everyone from small families to honeymooners to people celebrating their anniversaries in the group, and I found we moved very quickly. Overall, a great overview of the cities and a wonderful experience!!! I felt like I really experienced the highlights of Florence and Pisa.

Best Excursion of the Cruise
After reading the other reviews about the excursion, we decided a smaller group would be better for us because of our 8 year old son. This excursion turned out to be the best of the entire trip. Paul Costa was the absolute best tour guide and made this our most memorable outing. His personality, knowledge of the region and history, and efficiency in moving the group through the insufferable crowds of Florence won our gratitude and praise. Cruise to Europe: $6,000. Excursion into Florence and Pisa: $900. Paul as our tour guide: Priceless. Oh yeah, the sights and history of Florence and Pisa were great. The lack of time to shop for souvenirs or linger at an interesting spot was a bit frustrating.
