Parasailing In Paradise

Enjoy a scenic boat ride while waiting your turn to rise above it all. Because no experience is necessary, parasailing is safe and fun for everyone. Each participant will receive a 10 minute parasail ride when flying single, 12 minutes for tandem rides, or 14 minutes for triple rides. Note: Participants must be at least 6 years of age. Minimum weight to fly alone is approximately 130 lbs. Maximum weight to fly alone, tandem or as a triple rider, is approximately 450 lbs. The Captain may change these restrictions at any time for safety. This activity is not recommended for people who have physical limitations that may be aggravated by parasailing or by riding on a speed boat.

easier than you think
i had always wanted to try this but was nervous. I was also suspicious that the activity level was listed as 1. But it really is that easy. All you have to be able to do is step into the parasail boat from the pier (same pier the tender docks on). On the boat, the staff gear you up and explain how it works. They do everything, you just sit. When it's your turn, you step on the platform at the back and they hook your harness to the rigging, then speed up the boat and you fly up.
When we were riding in the boat we felt like we were going really fast, but once we were airborne, we felt like we were hardly moving at all, just floating along. Great views of the Kilua-Kona area and all up the mountainside. Also we could see right down into the water below.
I wore a bathing suit in anticipation of getting soaked, but no. The crew said most people stay completely dry as they land back on the platform at the back of the boat and not in the water. But they will lower you enough to dunk your feet into the water if you want, so we did.
Glad i got up the courage to try this.

Sensational
This was a thrill. Easy to do and a great view of the island, bay, ship, and port. An unanticipated thrill was a school of dolphins that made an appearance while we were in the air. This was an easy addition to the other excursion we had for this day. I would recommend the extra elevation to get the full experience. A wonderful view of paradise.
