Interesting Seahorses
I couldn't resist the opportunity to see something I never even knew existed - a seahorse farm. At first i wondered if people ate them, used them for medicine or??? However, it seems they are actually raised for pets. This tour is very educational, you can see many of the life stages of the seahorse and yes, they will hold on to your finger with their tails, which is totally amazing. (you can't "pet" them) They also had some leafy sea dragons but wouldn't let us photograph them, darn.

Seahorses are delicate little creatures
My husband did this & enjoyed it very much. They have you place your hand in the water and the little seahorses attach to your fingers with their tails, as if you are a coral reef. He wants to go back again and next time I'll join him

Educational
You will have a deep appreciation for the sea horse and sea dragons after the tour. The guide is very engaging and will make even the most ADD kid pay attention...we had a few unruly kids in our tour group and they managed to pay attention until we reached the gift shop at the end and their parents began yelling across the shop.

Lovely relaxed morning
I had been looking forward to this outing as I have a thing about seahorses. I was not disappointed. When you first arrive at the centre you have your doubts as it looks just like a shed in the middle of an industrial estate but once you get through the doors the experience starts. You can see everything from hatchlings to fully grown seahorses. The staff are very passionate and a lot of information is given. Being allowed to have a seahorse wind its tail around your hand is the ultimate experience.

First I want to say that I am a big lover of sea creatures, especially seahorses. Unfortunately this excursion can only be classified as rather boring. I went with 10 family members ranging in age from 2 to 70. The young children ages 2 and 3 were bored out of their mind. The 10 year old and 13 year old were also very bored. It was enjoyable to hold the seahorse but that only lasts about 30 seconds. We spent about 30 minutes standing outside in the heat listening to a spiel about their whole commercial breeding program. I would definitely not recommend this excursion to anyone with young children.

Would avoid this one if I were you.
If I had wanted to be preached to I would have went to church.
This was by far the worst of the excursions on my 7 day cruise.
My two children were bored 90% of the time with very brief periods of interest, mostly when they got to the very end and got to see different sea hourses in an aquariam setting.
We had to endure almost non-stop conservatinonalist lecutres/preaching. At a quess I would say 2/3 or more of the words out of our guides mouth had something to do with this instead of about the seahorses themselves.
Also, there is no petting of the seahorses. You get to stand over one of the tanks with your hands together while the guide moves one over and has it wrap its tail around your fingers. This lasts all of about 15-30 seconds in most cases and then you've had all the seahorse contact you are going to get.;
I'm offended that NCL has this on thier list of excursions.
