This eco-adventure combines the once-in-a lifetime thrill of flying across a series of zip lines in the rich rainforest, traversing a suspended 'sky-bridge,' crossing the channel aboard an expedition craft, ascending a mountain in a 6x6 off-road vehicle, and exploring hidden relics of a famous historical gold mine. Board a high-speed vessel crossing Gastineau Channel, passing Mayflower Island and Suicide Falls, with a beach landing at the remote Treadwell Mine on Douglas Island. From here, an off-road vehicle takes you to the forest base camp, where your guides will outfit you and provide a safety briefing, before transporting you up the densely-forested hillside to the first zip line tree platform. This is your introduction to nearly a mile of high tension cables, linking a network of platforms mounted high in carefully selected Sitka spruce trees. Cross an aerial suspension bridge, with breathtaking and spectacular views of Juneau. On the last zip line, you'll soar to base camp, and be presented with a custom-cast Alaska Canopy Adventures medal. Participants must be at least 12 years of age, weigh between 90 lbs. and 250 lbs., in good physical condition and must be comfortable with heights. Minors must be accompanied by a legal guardian. Completion of a waiver and/or release form is necessary and cannot be signed by relatives that are not a minor's legal guardian. Pregnant women, persons with pre-existing or recurrent medical conditions, and/or persons with a fear of heights, should not participate. We recommend you wear layered clothing and long pants. Closed-toe shoes are required. Rain gear provided when needed. Although wildlife sightings are frequent, they cannot be guaranteed. For more information, please visit: http://spiritofalaskatours.com/Norwegian/Zipline-Rainforest-Ketchikan.html
