Depart Dubrovnik by motorcoach along the Adriatic Road through the scenic and picturesque Dubrovnik Countryside toward the Village of Gruda. In Gruda you'll be met by professional staff who will give a tour briefing. After about fifteen minutes of preparation, your adventure begins. The ride is very scenic as you pedal through the countryside, vineyards and along the Ljuta River. En route, stop near the river, where fresh local fruits will be served. At the end of your biking adventure, you'll visit a local winery in Gruda Village for a wine tasting.
Note: Tour participation is limited, but is subject to a minimum number of participants to operate. Each guest will be given a helmet. We recommend that you wear sport shoes, sport clothes, sunglasses, and sunscreen. When tendering into Dubrovnik Old Town tour duration will be shorter.

Fun bike ride, but not for everyone
Ok, if you are just going to Dubrovnik for the very first time, you should be aware that this shore excursion/bike ride DOES NOT take you through the Old City of Dubrovnik. So, if that's important to you, don't take this excursion. The closest you'll get to the Old City is in the bus, high above on a hill, overlooking the walls of the city.
If that's ok with you - then the bike ride is fun for those that like a bit of the experience of the countryside. We travelled there in Mid-June 2012, and the weather was beautiful 85+ degrees (F), and a group of more than 20+ people of all bike riding skill levels and ages (13-70 ages)
There were just a few hills - not really that many. And the overall ride was through the countryside, seeing small villages, stopping at a small church for a snack and water.
The bikes were quite nice - sort of like a mix of a hybrid and a dirt bike. Equipped for the roads we were on, and pretty comfortable and sturdy.
The ride isn't for everyone - after a few blocks, 2 folks turned around, not sure they could make it after the first small incline. About a mile in, we lost a few more folks, that turned around after deciding it wasn't their cup of tea.
My family and I (including my 70 yr old mom) finished the ride. (About 8.5 mi.) We had an issue where the bathrooms weren't open, but I'm guessing that was a fluke.
Overall, a different kind of excursion - but might not be what you were looking for...
If you are looking at getting away from the hustle and bustle of group tours, you may enjoy this tour. A bus will take you to a small village where you will pick up your bikes and meet your guide. The ride is approximately 14km (8.5 miles) roundtrip, and winds its way through quiet Croatian country sides. The guide will give you plenty of opportunities to stop and take pictures. Water is provided as well as fruit for snacks. Our tour group consisted of 7 people + the guide, and it really was a welcome change from the crowds that one experiences on cruise ship excursions. The cycling is easy paced, and no difficult hills to conquer (I hate hills so know what I'm talking about). I spent two weeks on my cruise and this was my favourite excursion. The tour ends at a winery and you will be given the opportunity to sample! Enjoy!
