Cozumel's Introduction To Scuba Diving

Our introduction to Scuba diving is perfect for you if you have always dreamed of swimming and breathing underwater. You could be Scuba diving in the warm, crystal-clear waters of the Caribbean in no time! A team of PADI instructors will dedicate their time to you and take you through the step-by-step introductory course that will teach you how to breathe and swim freely underwater. Your dive site reaches a maximum depth of 25 feet, home to schools of sergeant majors, pairing angelfish, and lobsters. Cozumel, with its warm and exceptionally clear waters, offers an outstanding opportunity for you to make your first dive a remarkable experience. Note: Participants must be at least 12 years of age. Due to restrictions by the Dive Provider, any Scuba participants currently taking any medication or with a previous medical condition should bring a note from their primary physician stating that they are medically cleared to participate on a Scuba excursion.

Must Experience
We originally planned to do the beginning scuba in Costa Maya, but due to a mix up with the time change we missed the chance. The excursion staff was very understanding, and allowed up to rebook in Cozumel, since the one in Belize was booked up. The dive site was a short trip down the main road from the port. The instructor was excellent and reviewed all we would need to know for our dive. Lockers could be rented out to provide a place for our personal items. The lockers should be a provided service. We were lucky in that there were only 5 in our group and the dive master was very patient with me and my sister, considering we were having a problem with our mask fitting correctly. Once we were in the water, it was beautiful. You can tell some of the coral is dead, but I put that down to the water and atmospheric conditions and not to any damage from the dive outfit, since they ask that you not touch the coral. I estimate that we were in the water for a good 45 minutes, and saw a variety of tropical fish. Overall the experience is something we will never forget and I will do this again at all ports if provided.

Intro to Scuba
This is a great way to experience scuba diving without having to get certified. I am a certified diver and my wife has never experienced scuba so this was an awesome experience for her. The instruction is very simple and all the gear is provided. The instructor is right by your side the entire time you are diving so it's very safe. My wife is now determined to get certified so this is going to be another hobby that we can do together.
