What's better than relaxing on the beach, working on your tan, or swimming at the beautiful secluded beach of a Belizean island? Board your tender for a short voyage to the island and enjoy a relaxing day of some fun in the sun. Once at the beach, relax under a coconut tree, take a dip in the ocean or participate in a game of beach volleyball. Complimentary use of kayaks and floats are available.
Note: We recommend you bring cash for the restaurant.

We took this trip on 3/20/2013 & we were very excited to go, but it didn't turn out to good. We must have been the last group to arrive & there were no lounge charis or any chairs! We had to sit on the sand on our towels for 4hours, not fun!! The beach was beautiful & the water so very blue, but we couldn't really enjoy it as we were very uncomfortable. All the seats @ the bar were busy or people had taken the chairs to the beach area. We sure didn't get our moneys worth. Would have been wonderful if they didn't over book. My advise is talk to someone before you book & see what the time frame is. Very disappointed.
We decided to do this excursion because we had zip lined in Belize before and saw the country side. We wanted to see the beauty of the beaches that we'd heard about. This beach break takes you straight to a tiny island off Belize and straight back to the ship so if you want to see Belize don't do this. You do not see any of the culture or the city. If you want a quite place to lay for the day then this is perfect for you. The free kayaks are cool too. It is beautiful here but you better bring water shoes because there is a lot of coral. Bring your own snorkel gear cause there is none to rent.
This was a very pretty island. Not very big, but big enough! There is no dock for the ship, so a tender will pick you up and take you to the island. It's a short 10 minute boat ride. The water was warm and clear . We snorkeled off the beach and saw numerous fish and 3 colors of starfish. They had a nice bar and a grill going with $3.00 hotdogs and for some reason, the french fries were the best we ever had!The bar had good local beer. You will be there about 3.5 hours or so and the boat will pick you back up and take you to the ship or you can go to land for a little shopping. You will have plenty of time. No worries.
Just returned from a 7-day Western Caribbean cruise on the Star. This was my first cruise, so my cruise partner (my lovely sister!) let me choose our shore excursions. I am so very glad I chose this as one of them! My goal on this cruise was relaxing in and near the ocean, and that is just what I got here. There is no deep harbor in Belize, so you have to use tender boats. The crew on our tender was fantastic, helpful and cheerful, giving us a great start to our excursion, after leaving the ship. The tender docks right at the beach, so there is a very short walk after arriving. This beach is made of teeny tiny shells and rocks, so I suggest wearing water shoes all the time. The swimming area is large enough, with a nice sandy bottom. Though we didn't snorkle, we saw some beautiful starfish, and I heard from some who did the snorkling on the other side of the island, that there were plenty of things to see. The facilities (bar, restrooms) were nice and sufficient. There are several tables with thatched roofs dotted here and there, with plenty of lounge chairs, if you want to lie out. The little gift shop was way too expensive and we didn't buy anything there. I would definitely do this again, if I get the chance!
LIke the Corona commercial, this is the BEACH! A short boat ride from the ship by a fun crew takes you to this beautiful island. Very uncrowded beach/island, no beach vendors, crystal clear waters with a beautiful view. Snorkeling is not good here but if you want a day (4 hrs) to relax this is the place.

Bannister Island was amazing. If was very secluded and very peaceful. If you enjoy relaxing on quiet beach, with no one bothering you, this is the place. Free kayaking, snorkeling equipment and water floats. Great day! Would do it again!

The island is beautiful and the help is very friendly. We spent 4hrs at the beach and loved every minute. Snorkling was great! The water was crystal clear and we found a lot of shells. I highly recommend this excursion well worth the money!
